I adore this book.

I was captured by Amelia’s tale from the first page. Her story begins in utter devastation and takes you back through her exploration of a new, exciting city full of promise for her future. I enjoyed being engrossed in the lives of Amelia and her cousin, Zora, as they sought to find suitable mates and navigate the fascinating social traditions of Baltimore in 1889. Amelia’s summer is plagued by the discovery of her new found ability to catch glimpses of the future. The not always welcome visions leave her wondering if she is to blame for the dark events she predicts.

Saundra Mitchell has created a beautifully written tale of love and friendship. I admire her eloquent writing style. Her engaging characters kept me captivated through two readings.

I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. I would love to know your thoughts.
