It sounds like the beginning of a bad joke, but it is the start of the latest tale in the Rachel Morgan series; Pale Demon by Kim Harrison. In a world where the lines between good and evil are frequently blurred, I often find myself rooting for the bad guys. The depth of characters in this series are truly a work of art. I find myself thinking of Rachel and her gang of misfits in between installments. These are characters you love despite their faults and because of them. Pale Demon is by far the best in the series. Do yourself a favor and start the series from the beginning. The rewards sown in Pale Demon are worth it.
